Frequently-Asked-Questions
Faqr

Q. What is Faqr?

Faqr is the course or the way which leads a true muslim to such closeness (Qurb) to Allah where he or she is blessed with Deedar-e-Elahi as Prophet Mohammad Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam was blessed on the night of Meraj. It is the actual Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam as he Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam says :

Meaning: “Faqr is my pride and Faqr is from me”.
Only after following this path the Salat of a muslim becomes Meraj as is said in the Hadith that “Salat is Meraj for a Momin” i.e praying while seeing Allah.
vision-of-allah

Q. Can Allah be seen?

Yes! Allah can certainly be seen. Hazrat Jareer Bin Abdullah relates a Hadith that the Holy Prophet Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam said “you will soon see Allah with your eyes” (Mishkwat Shareef).

Hazrat Ali Karum Allah Wajhul Kareem says “I do not pray Allah unless I see Him”.
Hazrat Shaikh abdul Qadir Jillani Razi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu says:

Meaning: “How can a person pray Allah unless he recognizes Him” and recognition is possible only after seeing.

Tubsiroon

Q. How is it possible for a person to see Allah?

In the Holy Quran Allah says:

Meaning: “I am within you, can’t you see.”
So Allah is in the inner self of a person but the strong veils of Nafs stops a person to see Allah. When these veils of Nafs are removed with the help of a spiritual Mentor (Murshid-e-kamil) and our innerself i.e. soul is enlightened by the invocation (Zikr) and contemplation (Tasawur) of Ism-e-Allah Zaat (Allah’s Personal Name) then this enlightened soul can see Allah without any veil.

ism_allah_zat

Q. What is Ism-e-Allah Zaat?

Ism-e-Allah Zaat is a key of the door to the esoteric world which leads to Allah. It is devised by Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahoo Rehmat-ul-Allah Alayh. Personal Name of Allah , printed in gold and then framed is Ism-e-Allah Zaat. It is given to the disciples by Murshid-e-kamil for invocation (Zikr) and contemplation (Tasawur) in a special manner. It has very special effects on the soul of the devotee.

Zikr-and-Tasawur

Q. What are the special effects of Zikr and Tasawur of Ism-e-Allah Zaat?

In the Holy Quran Allah says:

Meaning: “Certainly in the Zikr of (Ism-e-Allah Zaat) lies the satisfaction of soul”.

Our soul is a living creation of Allah and like every living creature it requires food for its strength and life. Soul is related to the divine upper world, so nothing related to this material world can give it the strength which enables it to break the cage of this physical body and travel to Allah. Only the Zikr of Allah’s name can give it the strength which enables it to break the cage of this physical body and travel to Allah.

Effects-of-Zikr

Q. How the Zikr effects the soul?

When the Zikr is done with the inhale and exhale of breath (Zikr-e-Pas Infas) it effects the soul because breath is directly related to the soul, as when the soul enters the body it starts breathing and when the soul leaves the body it stops breathing. Just as food eaten by mouth gives strength to the whole physical body, Zikr done by breathing gives strength to innerself i.e soul. But the desired effects of Zikr can be gained only if it is given by a Murshid-e-Kamil and done under his supervision.

Spiritual-Guide

Q. Why Murshid-e-Kamil is necessary to reach Allah?

Although the Zikr strengthens the soul to travel to Allah but the soul needs a guide who could show it the way and teach it how to fight with the tricks of Satan who has sworn to mislead everyone who wishes and tries to reach close to Allah. Murshid-e-Kamil is also like a spiritual doctor who cures the spiritual diseases like lust, pride, jealousy, malice, vile etc. As soul is a living creature, it surely gets ill just like all other living beings. It can never reach Allah unless it becomes purified after getting rid of these diseases.

The-Perfect-Spiritual-Guide

Q. Can’t we reach Allah without The Perfect Spiritual Guide (Murshid-e-Kamil)?

Except Prophets of Allah no one has ever reached Allah without a Murshid, even the born Auliya like Ghaus-ul-Azam Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jillani, Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh, Hazrat Sultan Bahoo Rehmat-ul-Allah Alayh needed a Murshid to reach Allah, how could laymen like us reach Allah without Murshid. We cannot reach a house in our next street unless someone tells us where it is located and where to turn to reach it, how could we reach Allah without someone telling us the way. We surely need someone who exactly knows the way.

Fafirroo-ila-Allah

Q. What do you mean by “Reaching Allah” when Allah is within ourselves?

No doubt Allah is within everyone but Satan and Nafs are also within everyone who are always diverting us away from Allah and seducing us to commit sins. In the Holy Quran Allah Says Meaning: “Run towards Allah”. Allah is within us but we have to run and reach him by crossing the hurdles created by Satan and Nafs. Our religion Islam is a Sirat-e-Mustaqeem i.e a straight path. Where does this straight path lead to? Obviously to Allah. So although Allah is within everyone but one has to get close to him through this Sirat-e-Mustqeem.

Qurb-e-Elahi

Q. How do we know whether we are close to Allah or away from him?

If you can see Allah within yourself, meet Him, talk to Him then you are close to Him otherwise not. The Holy Prophet Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam said:

Hadith

Meaning: “Every true believer (Momin) will talk to Allah directly without any meditation or interpreter”.

Since soul is a living being, it has the capability of seeing, talking, thinking etc but only when it is strengthened by the Zikr of Ism-e-Allah Zaat. This Zikr also purifies, rectifies and cleans our innerself and then we can have the glorious Vision of Allah in the clean mirror of our innerself. If we have this Vision we are close to Allah.

Shariat-and-Faqr

Q. What is the difference between Shariat and Faqr?

Shariat is related to the actions and deeds of physical body while Faqr is related to actions and deeds of the soul. Faqr is the soul of Shariat and has the same importance as soul has inside the physical body. Physical body is lifeless and useless without soul similarly Shariat cannot benefit you alone unless united with Faqr. Faqr is loving Allah and dedicating ourselves to Him while Shariat relates to the actions that we take to show this love and dedication i.e to follow His orders completely with an intention to find His closeness (Qurb) and Vision (Deedar). Faqr is intention and Shariat is action and for Allah “Intention” is more important than action.

Maarfat-e-Elahi

Q. Why is it important to recognize Allah?

In a Qudsi Hadith Allah Says:

Ayat e Quran

Meaning: “I was a hidden treasure, I desired to be recognized, thus I created all the creatures for my recognition (only)”.

So the main purpose behind the creation of man and the essence of all the prayers is the recognition of Allah. After death the first question that will be asked in the grave is “Who is your Rub”? What will be the answer of those who have not gained recognition of Allah? Those who do not gain recognition of Allah do not fulfil the purpose of this creation so they will have to face the wrath of Allah on doomsday.

bayat

Q. What references do we get about Bait (Oath of Allegiance) from Quran and Sunnah?

We get many authentic references of Bait from Quran and Sunnah. In the Holy Quran Allah Says

Meaning: “(Oh Beloved Prophet Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam) those who swear allegiance upon you infact swear allegiance upon Allah and Allah’s hand is on their hands.”

Meaning: “Surely Allah was well pleased with the true believers when they pledged allegiance to you (Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam)”.
The Holy Prophet Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam says :

Meaning: “One who has no Shaikh (Murshid, Spiritual Mentor) has no belief.”

Meaning: “One who is not guided by a Mentor is verily guided by a Satan”.

Whenever a non-muslim accepted Islam, it was obligatory for him to swear allegiance upon the hands of the Holy Prophet Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam. The Holy Prophet was a Murshid to them who showed them the way to Allah. So Bait is an obligation as well as a Sunnat.

Search-for-Murshid-Kamil

Q. How can we find a true Murshid in this age of fraud?

It is not correct that a true and perfect Murshid cannot be found in this age. They are always present in every age to guide the true believers (Momin) how to get close to Allah. Problem is only with our own intentions. We never want to find Allah rather we sometimes demand the pleasures of this world and sometimes the pleasures of Heaven. Everyone finds a Murshid according to his/her intentions. Those who really and truly want Allah are never misguided because Allah has promised to guide them Himself.

Ayat e Quran

Meaning: “And those who struggle (for my closeness), I certainly guide them (myself) in my way”.

So the first step while finding a Murshid is to purify your own intentions. Secondly the disciples of a Murshid are the proof and witness to the status of their Murshid. If they claim that they have found Allah through their Murshid, it is a proof that their Murshid is perfect.

Jamey-Noor-ul-Huda

Q. What are the qualities of a Murshid-e-Kamil?

Murshid-e-Kamil is infact Insaan-e-Kamil who is present in every era and is the only one in his era to rectify the religion which has been impurified with the passage of time. He is at the footsteps of Hazrat Mohammad Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam and he guides his disciples just according to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam. Most prominent feature of a Kamil Murshid is that he never indulges his disciples in excessive physical prayers rather he lays emphasis on strengthening spiritual relationship with Allah through Zikr of Allah’s Personal Name, as the more you remember Him the closer you get to Him. More over a Murshid-e-Kamil never burdens a disciple by giving him hardships rather he himself takes the burden of guiding him, rectifying his soul and purifying his Nafs. Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahoo Rehmat-ul-Allah Alayh says that

“Murshid-e-Kamil is the one who gives his disciples the Zikr of Personal Name of Allah (Ism-e-Allah Zaat) on the very first day of swearing allegiance”. (Ain-ul-Faqr)

Insan-e-Kamil

Q.  Have you found the Insaan-e-Kamil of this era?

Yes! We and the other disciples of our Murshid-e-Kamil Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman Mudzillah-ul-Aqdas bear witness that he has all the qualities and signs of an Insaan-e-Kamil and he is unique in his spiritual status in this age. He is truly at the footsteps of Hazrat Mohammad Sall’Allahu Alayhi Wa’allihi Wasallam. Through him many devotees have found nearness to Allah.
